Teaching Thermodynamics: Prof. Deniz Üner way

Finally, after reconfiguring the site, I have possiblity to write more often about different topics. This one, is a one that I wanted to write for quite a long time.

Thermodynamics is one of the essential and tough courses of engineerings. Usually, the profs teaching are not easier ones either. One special person in my life as a scientist-to-be is Prof. Dr. Deniz Üner, from Middle East Technical University. Below is a piece she used during our class teaching us Entropy concept; the handwriting is hers as well:

Deniz Üner handwriting

I am keeping it for more than 8 years as a reminder. I didn't get the highest grade in those courses, but nevertheless they were the courses that made my want to learn more and dig. Your hands would sweat during the exams, but if you've attended the course, you'd know how to do it anyway :)

This post is to say a minimum Thank you! to her. I hope she'll keep teaching and straighten some bachelors' minds... they'll thank later ;)

ps. She also had a piece called "The thermodynamics of Hell" on her door. Anyone remember?

Selam Daniel!
I took her course in my bsc too. It was a challenge for me but as you said it was worth it. Since she asks questions in the class I went there prepared and it was easier in exams after. I hope she gives more time in the exams though :)

Dr. Uner was my student many years ago. It was always obvious that she would be a great teacher!
